Random Arenas (Abuse)
The following is a brief list of the ways to abuse others in Random Arenas:
Denying resign - The resign function takes all players to forfeit the match and exit the arena when loss is foreseen; it's seldom a trouble in organized PvP to have the entire team resign. However, in RA many players tend to deny resigning when a loss is eminent, thus forcing the other three or so players to be dragged to the end of matches for the sake of causing anguish. /report system - Every malicious teen knows that the way to punish others by automated hexing/banning is to select 'leeching' for everything (no matter the violation type) and verbal abuse (for the slightest itch, despite there being a chat filter, a toggleable chat box *ON/OFF*, etc.. I've been reported and laughed at because malicious teens manipulate the system to force these punishments to take place for the wrong reasons (i.e.: malice, hatred, spitefulness, etc..). The point of PvP and gaming in RA is to have fun, not bear the burden of other people's childish abusive antics. Grieving - When players enter the arena with nothing but damage-mitigating spells/skills and self-heals to stall the match-up until the very end of the clock/counter. This causes anguish to players seeking to compete for gladiator points. That's the reason why RA/TA exist, to compete, not to force others to become anguished and have their time wasted watching that grriever stall, self-heal, etc.. Botting - Many players report botters in RA, but over time, still see the same botters reported remain botting. Over time, it begins to demoralize competitors as they watch the botter increase in gladiator/zaishen ranks by way of cheating. (i.e.: I have rank 4, earned after 1 year while the one botter who cheated got to rank 6 or 7 in the same amount of time after being reported repeatedly). Also, in my 4 years' experience gaming in RA, no one's cared to report botters and in fact support it, claiming that it's better to play with botters than newbs. This is unacceptable and must be dealt with in accordance wit hthe EULA. Several reports go in and yet the botter remains?! What gives, Anet?!! It isn't fair to us who actually earn our titles to watch them get with a script or program while they walk away from the computer! My question the Developers/Live Team for GW1 is: Can and will this be fixed? If so, how? |

don't forget the people who enter with full out running builds and spend 8 minutes running in circles jizzing everywhere probably reporting everyone who talks shit to them.
that's a question that can't be answered, cause you'll always have dumb people wasting your time no matter how drastically ra is altered. if you're a decent player with a clue (which comes with the knowledge of gladiator being a worthless title) really the only thing you can do is just avoid it entirely and not waste your time. either that or just deal with the excessive crap you have to put up with. let's face it, it won't ever ever ever change. the children and arrogant noobs, however, will continue to just eat random arenas up. |

I believe /report bannings are almost on FULL-AUTO. Meaning, players report and others suffer (automatically + automatedly.. almost no interaction from the Developers). It's a sign saying that Anet's thrown in the towel on GW1 in lieu of the GW2 Project and the only other production we'll probably ever see is that which can make them some extra change (i.e.:Name Changes and Makeovers).

Lol if you think the /report feature is bad then you should try out JQ (either side will do) and play as a monk or a spirit spammer and keep a quarry from them (the opposing team) for the majority of the match. Doing so will result in an AUTOMATIC dishonorable hex due to "leeching" b/c of the new "not moving for more than 50% of the match" "buff" Arena.Net recently implemented. The /report -> leeching feature needs to be removed-- simple as that. It's turned out to be nothing more than a tool to grief others, and, that is a fact.

You already have a thread in Riverside; why would you go create another thread, and in Q&A of all places? Closed for redundancy.
